Photo Study #32: Jangles

I’ve been keeping my eye on you…

and no, you’re not paranoid.

I love watching you move a little more quickly or breathe faster when you’re in a parking lot or underground garage – and when you turn around, I jump behind a stanchion or duck beneath a car… seeing you all shook up just gets me all warm inside…

and every time I do it, I come a little closer

One of these days, you’re gonna finally see me – of course, you’ll scream and run … and I’ll give you a few seconds before I put a hollowpoint in your back... then when you’re on the ground, I’ll cut your bleeders and carve me up some fresh meat!!! 'Cause I love making sausages!!!

Now – you may be saying to yourself (because if you said it to me, you’d be afraid I’d go psycho on you) – "Jangles..." (that’s my name because that’s what I do to  your nerves) – "why aren’t you all dirty and bloody like all those other evil, murderous clowns???"

I got a complex, okay!!!!???? I don’t like getting dirty. When I was little, my parents would dress me up in all white and if I got a single speck of dirt on it, **smack!!!** right across the jaw...

And I had twelve years of Catholic school. With nuns….

So everything is scotch-guarded… works like a charm. Boots have stain-resistant soles, too...

And I keep my blade clean and oiled as well – because blood and gore corrodes good steel… you don’t worry about that shit with pipe wrenches or axes…

So – we’ll be seeing a lot more of each other real soon… but in the meantime, think of me whenever you’re having a hot dog that tastes really good…

Because you are who you eat!!!!

It had to happen sometime... all the surveillance videos you see of creepy clowns stalking houses and people at night... I finally broke down and decided to get me one.

There were a lot of choices - Immortal and CFX had a wider variety of masks, but something about ShatteredFX's "Sinister" just struck the right cord with me. After a few back and forths with Jarred Alcala (the owner), we decided on a color scheme and hairing.

I knew right away that I wanted a bit of "Taxi Driver" in this mask, so we went with a very short and abbreviated mohawk - aka a "cockscomb". Looking at the earlobes, I also knew right away we needed to have tunnels in them as well.

Like his "Unknown" masks, Jarred's "Sinister" is extremely well made - the fit is nicely snug; no neck rippling and a deep enough bib for a variety of outfits. Eyeholes are a bit deep set, which is great for this look and a bit of black grease paint around the eyes guarantees a perfect transition between flesh and silicone. Lip fitment is excellent as well; an "8.9" on the Silva scale.

Next, came the outfit. Truth to tell, while a lot of these clown costumes look good, they really seem to be overpriced when considering some of the other elaborate costumes that I've gotten in the past; my Oberyn Martell outfit - including leather and steel accessories - was about equal to a single clown costume; and that didn't seem worth it.

I had imagined using an orange prison jumpsuit, but again, for the what I wanted (very plain, a few patches, some padding) the quote was way out of line in terms of pricing.

So .... since I was going for somewhat of a punk look, I decided to do the costume myself. Thanks to google, ebay and eastbay (sports supplier) and what I had previously, I was set. I also didn't want to permanently dirty the clothes, so "Jangles" had to have a reason and a backstory for being a bit more presentable (but no less psychotic) than his killer brethren.

I'll be doing a video soon, but this is one of the most fun masks I have and I enjoy the purely evil persona I've created!
