Photo Study #20: Evil is as evil does...

I get a major kick out of the recent Jaguar commercials where a striking Englishman discusses being a criminal mastermind, plotting world-domination and in general, wreaking havoc. And there has been the light-hearted and humorous criticism that the Brit always plays the bad guy...

Why?

Because they are so bloody GOOD at it!

Be honest - would you be as viscerally horrified hearing someone like Fran Drescher discussing a death-ray, or get that frisson of terror in listening to Ben Kingsley, Mark Strong, Tom Hiddleston or Nicolas Hoult discussing such widespread devastation as if they were ordering a fine meal in a 5-star restaurant? There's just something about that ultra-confident demeanor and smooth accent that makes the bad guy so attractive.

VS.

Which brought me to my creation from Bryan Silva of Studio 135.

I had seen an image of this bearded guy a while back and I thought right away this would make a perfect English villain. Bryan used his "Chiseled" mask to create this suavely corrupt individual. And Jerry Almond haired the mask to perfection. He also added a bit of gray into the facial hair to soften the look a bit.

"Christopher Holland" is one of Lucio's most feared  (and most independent) lieutenants - brilliant, sublimely poised, completely unscrupulous and with a healthy dash of sadist tossed in. As well as possessing a killer sense of style - in every sense.

Only in the fullness of time will we discover what chilling plots and overall wickedness are up Christopher's sleeve...

Photo Study #19: Bollywood Bound!

A few months back, I had purchased a Realflesh Masks "Model" mask done up in a darker skintone because there really are not any truly handsome black guy masks out there right now. My idea of "handsome" is something along the lines of Boris Kudjoe, Van Jones, and of course, Shemar Moore.

The black guy mask universe right now is composed of:

SPFX - "The Player" - heavier-set and muscular, looking like a convict. (one of the best looking, but I wouldn't buy from that company now if you paid me)

CFX - "Derrick" - a fairly "average" looking black guy.

Realflesh - "The Rapper" - a sleeker looking "Player" with a better fit and a bit of Vin Diesel thrown in.

Metamorphoses - "Soul Man" - Evander Holyfield-ish prize fighter.

While Ian Marier did an absolutely incredible job on the overall skintone and lip pigmentation, we both knew when I bought the mask that the features may not *QUITE* line up to my idea of a handsome black guy. But I also knew that the "Model" done up like this would also make an amazingly handsome Bollywood type leading man along the lines of John Abraham or Hrithik Roshan. So it would be a win-win either way.

And after really giving it a critical examination in the mirror, that was the concept I decided on. So "Raven Jagetia" was born. A drop-dead stunning Punjabi action hero with darkly smouldering good looks. Adding a slightly tousled wig to the mask and brown contacts nailed exactly the picture in my mind that I wanted.

And of course, I had done a motion video earlier when I first got the mask after it had been haired.

So I am still on my quest to find the perfect "handsome black guy" mask. I'd love to be able to get one with a substantial bib (or even better a full torso) and matching gloves. Stay tuned - I know that some new ones are coming soon...
