Video Study #9: Lawless

A little bit of history...

On February 14, 2012, a pair of dark skinned robbers made use of Composite Effect's "Mac" masks to disguise themselves as white cops and rob a check cashing store of $200,000.

There was more than the normal amount of criminal allure about these masks. Of course, I wasn't the first one to also want one of these masks.

I was the second.

You can read about my purchase of the "Attica Mac" here; unfortunately, I sold the mask because after a while I wasn't completely happy with the way the eyes fit without wearing a pair of glasses. It wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, but as I had gotten more masks from other companies, I could see some of the shortcomings in the eye fitment on this one - so I sold it.
It was a hard decision, but worth it. I did, however, always miss that particular "look" in my collection, so I finally asked Yves Gravelle of Metamorphose Masks to make me a re-imagined version. Yves asked me to wait a bit, as he was working on several improvements to the Clark sculpt and mold; these involved better eye and lip fitment, and a smoother interior of the mask. He told me that the "Clark v2" would be a noticable improvement.

The difference between the "Attica Mac" and the "Attica Clark" are incredible. I have a full bib now, and the eye and lip fitment is nothing short of amazing. It feels great to wear and even better viewed close up. Since I have two Clark v1's (my Viking and my Aramis), I can see the improvements; I also think the silicone composition has changed a bit as well - this feels a bit more clingy to the face and provides a better fit; I found out that Yves has done a "special sauce" on the inside to make it fit better as well.

I also did a movement video to show off the new "v2" version - I can wholeheartedly recommend the "Clark" for anyone who is looking for a truly "real" realistic mask!
