Photo Study #17: The Crow - "Let's not keep God waiting..."

One of the masks I've always wanted was for the anti-hero in the graphic novel version of "The Crow". For those of you unfamiliar with the storyline,  Eric Draven is the titular character. He is an undead vigilante brought back to life by a supernatural crow to avenge his fiancĂ©e's and his own deaths.

I never found exactly the right mask to create this character until CFX came out with their Mac 2.0. This one has a bit trimmer lines and more defined bone structure - I finally had my character. Of course the wizards at the company did a great job and added the small touches that were missing from the movie - like the scar across the bridge of the nose from the bullet in the back of the head that killed him. I really didn't want to do the Brandon Lee movie version - that gave me the creeps.

Of course, being an undead vigilante, Draven is definitely a badass. He has some great lines.

Albrecht: Police! Don't move! I said, "Don't move!"

Eric Draven: I thought the police always said, "Freeze!"

Albrecht: Well, I am the police, and I say, "Don't move" Snow White. You move, you're dead.

Eric Draven:
And I say, "I'm dead," and I move.

Eric Draven: I have something to give you. I don't want it anymore. Thirty hours of pain all at once, all for you.

So without further ado - the mask ...

... and the graphic novel version ....

Charlie: "What do you think, Mattie? I'm always ready..."
